Three years ago today, May 12, my world changed. It may not have been until a couple of months later until I truly realised it and it changed completely, but three years ago today was when it all started.
I was invited on an "outing" with my sister and brother-in-law, Jami and Jason. They had two extra tickets for the musical "The Rock and The Rabbi" in Lubbock and wanted to know if I wanted to go since I like musicals. Of course, I said "sure" because I was going to their house for a long weekend anyways. "Oh," Jami said, "I might happen to have someone to go with us."
Assured it wasn't a "date" but knowing better, I went anyways. And there, I met this girl from Snyder who lived in Lubbock. The first thing I remember thinking when I saw the blonde headed young lady was, "she has a great smile and pretty eyes." I learned through the evening that she was very nice and seemed pretty smart - a month or so later, when I found out she like me, I knew the last part about the smarts was true! ;)
So here we set, three years later and about to celebrate our two-year wedding anniversary, and I couldn't ask for anything more. The song I wrote for her and surprised her with at the rehearsal dinner during the slide show was:
It started out with a musical and the rest they say is history,
It was a big conspiracy with no complaint from her or me.
It was a big conspiracy with no complaint from her or me.
Everyone had a hand in it, including our God above,
And now I'm in so deep that I don't want out 'cause I'm caught up in her love,
And now I'm in so deep that I don't want out 'cause I'm caught up in her love,
Yeah, well I'm caught up in her love.
I know what God was thinking when he made her and me:
"One day they'll get together, a perfect couple they will be."
No matter what life brings us up to the very end,
I know I'm gonna be happy 'cause I'm marrying my best friend,
Yeah, well I'm marrying my best friend.
A year ago from Sunday, we went out for our first time,
I'm wrapped around her finger now just as she is with mine.
I praise my Heavenly Father, again and again and again,
He gave me a wife and a partner, my life, my love, my friend,
Yeah, my life, my love, my friend.
I know what God was thinking when he made her and me:
"One day they'll get together, a perfect couple they will be."
No matter what life brings us up to the very end,
I know I'm gonna be happy 'cause I'm marrying my best friend,
Yeah, well I'm marrying my best friend.
(repeat)
You know I'm marrying my best friend, tomorrow, I'm marrying my best friend.

And then I did. And thanks be to God because he put us together and guides our relationship. She's the most important thing in my life. Right behind God the Father, Christ the true Rock and the holy spirit.
She is my rock on earth given to me by my Rabbi. And I can't thank him, and everyone else who had a hand in it, enough!
I love you Leslye!

I'm so thankful that God gave us a role in the blessed event of your "meeting." And remember that -- it was not a setup; it was a meeting. After that night, you, Leslye and God did the rest and we are so thankful that it turned out the way it did.
Love you both!
Beautiful! That is what both of you are to us! So glad the "meeting" was successful and prayers were answered. Love you!
This side of the family is also very happy the "meeting" was successful!!
