We went with Bill and Donna Cranfill, Karen and Chris Cox (and their two daughters, Sadye and Josie) and Karla and Jeff Swanson (and their two kids, Tyler and Savannah). We had a great time at the all-you-can eat seats for $25 each. Lesye and I figured out that we each had four drinks and that is almost the price of admission, not to count the popcorn, peanuts, hot dog and nachos we ate (no, not all at one time, but when you are there from 5 p.m. or so until 10:30 p.m., you do get thirsty and hungry!)
Then we stayed and watched a great fireworks show to Motown Music. We had to move out of the homerun porch, so we left and moved behind home plate:

Someday, I want to go here. In case you don't know, that is Jerry Jones' tribute to himself, now known as Cowboy Stadium. It's huge. It makes the ballpark look like a toy!
As you may have read in an earlier post, Leslye got us the Clubhouse Combo for my birthday which included tickets to a Ranger game in June and a one day pass to the Colonial. I had never been to a professional tournament before, but we went Saturday and had a very good time. This is us taking our picture at the hotel because you can't take your camera (or phone) on the course.
We got up early and got to the TCU parking lot around 8 a.m. or so. We boarded the bus to the course and they dropped us between the second tee and third green. Right when we got in, we had the opportunity to take a picture in front of a green screen where they then put in the 18th green behind us when they printed the picture. That was a nice momento to have.
We then walked to the Fan Fest tent and looked for a minute before heading to the stands on the ninth green. We sat there for about an hour or more before we got up and walked around. We saw every hole on the front nine before heading back towards the 1/9/10 intersection. We then got something to eat before we headed back out onto the course. There we went to the No. 13 green, and let me tell you, that was the happening place to be! Kodak was doing a "live" shot of the 13th green. We walked to the tee box and they took our picture. As you can see behind us, there were some major crowds down around the 13th green. And they were rowdy, too. 
After we got our picture from behind the stands on No. 13, we went walking again and saw every hole on the back nine. We followed a few of the players here and there, but we saw pretty much every player on Saturday at least once, and several of them twice. We watched for a bit from a shady area where the 15th green and the 16th par-three could be seen before making our way over to No. 18. We decided to walk back over to the No. 10 tee, and from there, we could sit in the shade and look across the pond to the green. We did that for the rest of the afternoon. I got to take a couple of pics with some trophies... too bad my golf game couldn't take me anywhere close enough to a real one though!The FedEx Cup

As soon as we saw the last group hit their putts, we booked it back to the buses. Other than a line they formed at the bus door, we probably didn't wait in line for more than three-five minutes to get on and head back to the car at the TCU football stadium.
We went to eat at Abuelo's and then went swimming back at the hotel pool.
Sunday morning, we got up and left the hotel and headed to South Arlington Church of Christ. My good friend from college, Russel Heil, has been preaching there for over a year on a part-time basis, but within the last few months, he decided to go back to the full-time ministry. He didn't know we were coming, but the worship was very good, and I was excited to see him. It was good to catchup for just a bit after the service before we headed to our final entertainment for the weekend.
As many of you know, I have had Dallas Summer Musical tickets for six years, and our first show this summer was today: Happy Days.
It was good, and after it was over, we headed back home. We made a couple of stops on the way to pick me up another of my birthday presents (mesh rocking chairs for the back porch from Garden Ridge) and a lounge chair for Les to layout in.
Finally, we got home. Tired, but relaxed from a wonderful weekend. What more could one ask for? Sports, swimming, a musical and worship God - all experience with my awesome wife!
These happy days were hers and mine! Thanks Les for a great weekend that will have me "rockin' and rollin' all week long!"
