The Beach and The Bay

On Friday, we packed a picnic and headed to the beach and later in the day took the ferry across the bay.
This is the very curvy road down that we drove to get to the beach. Thankfully, Zach drove very cautiously and I tried to get a view of the ocean while keeping my eyes closed. Zach knows this road well because he often rides his bike on this road. Actually he had ridden this route earlier that morning.
This is the one of the many beautiful views Joey took from the car on the way down. The waves were very pretty, but very cold. We only put our feet in the water.
Shasta had a great time playing at the beach.
Our spot at the beach. Not the most glamorous picture of me. This photo could have used some photoshop magic and could have the bottom part cropped off, but Joey is in a meeting! Oh well!

After the beach, we went back to Zach and Ali's house and had a traditional Independence Day weekend meal - brisket and fixings. Then we drove to Larkspur to board the ferry to go into the city. The ferry we rode into the city was the "Napa".

Again, there are many more pictures on Mom's camera that I'm sure will get posted later!

These pictures make me nostalgic and a bit homesick. I grew up across the bay and, until I was a sophomore in HS, we lived on a hill where I could watch the sun set over the bay and see the skyline and bridge. Such a neat city to visit - wouldn't want to live in San Fransico though :).
