Sea World and San Antonio

We had a great week in San Antonio! We had some time for fun and relaxation before and in between Joey's convention.

Friday and Saturday we went to Sea World. Joey had never been and I had not been since my early childhood, so we had a fun, fabulous time! Friday was not crowded at all so we didn't have to fight the crowd or wait in lines. We were on the first car of the day for the Steel Eel, and then Joey rode a few times by himself. (Once was enough for me! He did take the picture for record that I did ride it!)

We also enjoyed all of the shows once and a few of then twice! The two Shamu shows were our favorites of all of the shows. It is amazing what the animals can do! Of course, we have hundreds of pictures, but I picked a few to share!

Waiting for the Shamu show!

Just one of the many neat pictures of Shamu!

Getting ready for the 4-D show!

On Sunday, we headed downtown to the Marriot Rivercenter for the convention. Sunday night CoSIDA had reserved several of the riverboats, so we took the extended version of the riverwalk boat tour. This picture is during the tour. (Do you notice that all of our pictures have the same pose - head shots with Joey' arm extended as far as possible to take the picture!) After the tour, we ate at Casa Rio - the first riverwalk restaurant.

On Monday, we went and remembered the Alamo! It looks much smaller than it does in the history books or than it did when I
visited there before. Maybe that is because I was smaller then!
Tuesday, we enjoyed our anniversary on the Riverwalk. Wednesday night we took one last walk around the river and ate at Rio Rio. In between, we had luncheons, receptions, and I had lots of time at the pool in the hot San Antonio sun!

Two years ago yesterday, I married the love of my life!
We had a nice evening celebrating our anniversary on the San Antonio Riverwalk.
We ate at a delicious Italian food restaurant, Paesanos. I had Baked Ziti with Italian sausage and Joey had Manacotti. Both were very good!

We paused a few times on our walk back to the hotel and enjoyed the river and the view.

What a wonderful 2 years it has been! We look forward to many more!
PS - More San Antonio vacation pictures to come! I am working with a very slow internet connection and do not have the patience to load them all.

Summer Fun!

Wow! We are having a busy fun summer! Which is also the reason for few blog updates! I knew I needed to update when I got a text message from my brother this morning asking where the blog updates were! So here ya go Zach!

We started our summer with Joey's family reunion in Winters. While we were there Courtney was there with her boyfriend Zack at his grandparents and then Amy, Charlie, and Abbye stopped on their way home from Austin. Who knew Winters' DQ was such a popular destination!

The next weekend, we had Roberts' Family Vacation in Arlington. The whole crew was there: Bill and Donna; Jeff, Tami, and Cody; Jason, Jami, Jadon, and Jaxon; and us. We had a great time playing Putt Putt, watching the Rangers win, and playing in the water at NRH2O. Jami and Tami blogged the whole weekend, so if you want you can go and read her their accounts of the weekend.

This week we are in San Antonio for Joey's CoSIDA convention. The convention actually started last night, but we came Thursday for a few days of fun! Friday and Saturday we spend at Sea World!! More on that later...

Way to Go Joey!

Joey has been recognized by the College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) for his media guides. His basketball media guide received first place in the nation for Division II media guides. He and his department also were honored for the football and women's basketball media guide.
He puts a lot of time and effort in the media guides and does a really great job in all that he does! I have a very talented husband! I am so proud of him!!!

Happy Birthday Big Sis!

Just wanted to wish Tamra Arlene Roberts Harvey a very happy 41st birthday!

Thanks for being a wonderful big sister - more so now than when we were younger, of course!
I always looked up to you even though I may not have always shown it. I always have felt blessed that we - all three of us siblings - have great relationships with each other.

I know you are a wonderful teacher and the kids are blessed to have you!

Most importantly, I am glad we can call each other brother and sisters in Christ!
Hope you had a great, wonderful birthday! We love you!

TX and CA Picnics

While Joey and I enjoyed our picnic at Stephenville City Park today.....

A cardinal flying off of the picnic table.

One of the many lightning bugs that we saw. They were so fun to watch!

Dad, Mom, Gran, and Zach enjoyed a picnic at Stinson Beach.

Just wanted to keep you up to date on their California travels! They are having a great time! Here is Gran and Zach and I am guessing that is San Francisco in the background.

(Thanks to the tour guide for sending me pictures!)

Meanwhile back in Texas, Joey and I had a "To Do List" Day also known as "Honeydo List" Day. We got everything marked off our list today! Yeah! Well, mostly I still have some presents to wrap before bed and it was too windy for spray paint today!

A Great Saturday For One and All!! Hope Yours Was Too!!

Our DIY

We were really hoping that "Landscape Challenge" would ring our door bell or that a landscaper would find us in the aisle of a store and ask to come home with us, but since it didn't happen, we had our own Landscape DIY. (You can tell I watch a lot of HGTV and DIY based on the show references!)

The Before Project - This flowerbed originally had lots of irises in it when we moved in. Last summer, we dug them out and planted some other flowers. We had a problem with water and dirt running out of the flowerbed because of the slope that it is one with the driveway. So that led us to our project.

After Work-evening 1: We took out some of the dirt to fill in holes where we took out some rose bushes. Then Joey laid the pavers to make the border/retaining wall for the flowerbed. Then we added some organic soil and mixed it in with the other dirt.

Finished Project - We finished tonight by adding some more soil and planting flowers and the very cute yard decor!!
