Swimming Lessons

Keaton and I took "Mommy and Me" swimming lessons for two weeks from July 5th to 14th.  We knew that Keaton loved the water, but now he really loves it!  He will even go under and get his face wet without getting upset.  Joey came on the last day and took lots of pictures, so I will share a few with you!

Getting used to the water temperature.  It is a little cool at 10:00 in the morning.

Happy boy after swimming lessons!
If you made it to the end of all the pictures, you can be thankful that I did not include all 153 pictures that Joey took in one day of swimming lessons.

9 Months

This post is a little late since Keaton was 9 months on the 4th, but I was waiting till after this past Monday when we went for his 9 month checkup.  I had trouble deciding which pictures to post, so I posted them all!  He has so many different expressions!

At 9 months, Keaton:
  • weighs 20 pounds and is 29 inches long.
  • eats baby food three times a day and continues to have four 8 oz. bottles a day
  • is enjoying new finger foods
  • continues to roll every where and makes us think he is going to crawl
  • sits him self up
  • loves to makes noises "ooo, ooo" and blows air through his lips which occasionally is like a whistle
  • loves to be read to and to read books
  • is such a handsome, happy little guy!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a fun-filled 4th of July! Lots of fun means lots of pictures!

Keaton ready to go to the parade.  Starkye decorated his stroller so he would be festive!

Watching the parade with Grampy.  "If you've seen one, you've seen them all." once said Grampy, but none of them are like watching with your grandson!

Keaton and Mommy watching the parade.

The traditional flag pictures.  There are many pictures of  me and Zach on the 4th of July sitting on the front porch holding a flag.

After lunch and a nap, we enjoyed a swim in the West's backyard.

Relaxing in the wagon

Snyder drew a crowd since they had fireworks including Amy, Abbye, Anson, Gary, and Hollye.  Anson and I going down the slide.

Swinging with Aunt Jami

First Fireworks - He wasn't really sure what was going on at first but really wasn't bothered by the noise.  He watched about half the show then rolled over and went to sleep. It was way past bedtime and it had been a busy day!

Thanks to Jason and Jami for hosting such a fun 4th of July party! It was a fun, first 4th of July for Keaton!

Summertime in Snyder

Keaton and I, and then Joey later in the week, were able to spend a week of summertime in Snyder.  Since Joey was at his conference in Florida, Keaton and I left last Monday and went to Snyder. Keaton had lots of fun playing, and I got lots of practicum paper written and played some too!

On Wednesday, Starkye, Keaton and I went to Lubbock to see all the cousins, do a little shopping, and pick up Joey from the airport on Thursday.  First we went to see Courtney, Brooke, Brian, and Brodye.  I know pictures were taken, but I don't have them.  Then we spent the night with the Turners.  Anson and Keaton had a great time playing and Abbye was Keaton's "babysitter".  She asked if he could have goldfish cracker, but the evidence were already on his shirt that she had already given him one.  He seemed to really enjoy it and chewed it up with no problem!

Anson and Keaton playing together.  It is hard to get a good in focused picture of these two because one of them is always on the move!
Love this picture!
Love this one too!

Charlie's attempt at a mohawk for Keaton.
On Thursday after we picked up Joey and headed back to Snyder, we went for a swim in the pool Grampy got for the backyard.
Keaton's new trick this past week is going from laying on the floor to sitting up.  He started doing it at home the Sunday before we went to Snyder and got really good at it in Snyder.  On Friday when we went to get him up from his nap, this is how we found him.
He went from the bed to the highchair.
Where he used a 26 year old bib.  This was one of Uncle Zach's bibs.

On Saturday, Keaton went outside to help Starkye decorate the yard for the 4th of July.  He decided to help out by being Mr.Cool in the wagon.

Later, Mr. Cool decided to talk on his phone.

Can't imagine where he learned that the phone goes up on your ear!
Then on Sunday, Jason, Jami, Jaden and Jaxon got home and we went over for a swim.  Again, I know there were pictures, but I don't have any good ones.  After the swim we ate and played in the backyard. Mr. Cool decided he needed to try another ride.
So he tried Jaden and Jaxon's car.  Too bad his feet didn't quite touch the ground!
We really had a great time and enjoyed more of the week with the 4th of July holiday.  If you made it this far, I won't continue to make you look at this precious baby boy anymore right now.  I will save the 4th of July pictures for later!
